I belong to a few lists on the internet, specifically the Dyerslist and they have been talking about woad herb and how you can use this for a dye... so of course I have bought some seeds to grow see how that goes!! The lady I was emailing with has a wonderful website .. have a look http://www.sarahannsmith.com she has this wonderful piece called manchu pichu WOW well she has alot of quilts that are wow.... then from her site I was taken to this womans site!!! you see how it works don't you .. from site to site before you know it the time has passed and you have gotten no sewing done... http://www.esteritaaustin.com/ have a look she uses hand dyed fabrics and paints on them as well... very bright vivid colours... I really really really like them.. will have to try to do a piece in this styling for myself.
ok off here now and going to do a bit of sewing ...

I bought some woad seeds too - I've got a couple coming up (not many germinated) - am growing them in pots because the slugs won't give them a chance here in wet South Wales otherwise! We'll have to compare notes as the year goes on...
